Complained to the Ontario Patient Ombudsman (copy sent via email to Jonathan Vant and Dr. Rogers)
Your Complaint
Complaint details
My In patient doctor, Dr. Tabitha Rogers, has restricted me to the Schizophrenia North unit, and says I will remain here, no matter what, until I am before the Superior Court of Justice. This is not ethical. She also instituted a 'Care Plan' which includes that at the whim of staff, my possessions can be removed from me, including my laptop and tablet that I use to communicate and speak with appropriate legal parties now that I am self-representing. She also lists pens and paper as "privileges" and they can be removed as well. I use pens and paper to help plan my day, stay organized, and document the abuses (including gaslighting) and discrimination based on my religion (Christianity) that I suffer here at The Royal. I use my tablet and my laptop for that too.
Details of my situation can be seen on https://reynen.ca, including my advance directive. She also has yet to allow me to go to Service Ontario to get my driver's license. These actions are not ethical or legal. I formally requested that Jonathan Vant look into these matters. I also formally requested a different psychiatrist, since I will be at minimum engaging in a civil malpractice claim against her, and am in the process of selecting a lawyer for this. She has verbally confirmed that she has gaslit me. She does not deny she is walking me to suicide.
Health sector organization suggestion
He said that he would review them, eventually, but that he was going on vacation soon, and the interim Chief of Staff was already on vacation. I am not confident they will be dealt with.
Preferred resolution
I want her treatment of me to be reviewed.
I want an apology for all of her abuses (psychological/emotional/spiritual/and abuse of power).
I want to be able to leave the unit while I wait to be seen by the Superior Court of Justice for my three forms.
I want the care plan changed. I require access to those supplies in order to self represent and have a fair trial, and cannot trust the staff as they are complicit in my discrimination and abuse and walking me to suicide (documented on https://reynen.ca).
I want a different psychiatrist to be in charge of my care while I am still involuntary, as she can continue to abuse me, which makes it difficult for me to best self-represent.
